“When one door closes, God will open another one.” Most likely you’ve repeated those words as a way of expressing your faith that God will take care of you no matter what happens. That He will send someone across your path who will help to make things right or better. But have you ever considered the possibility that God will use you as an open door to help in someone else’s time of need? We see a perfect example of this in Luke, Chapter 10 and the story of the Good Samaritan, and how he went out of his way to help someone desperately in need. While others refused to render aid to an injured man lying helpless on the side of the road, the Good Samaritan did just the opposite. He saw an opportunity to help so he stopped, rendered aid to the injured man, and then took him to a place for further medical attention. He even paid for the man’s treatment and committed to pay whatever other medical expenses might arise. This man saw an opportunity to do something uncommon—to do what others would not normally do. He seized the moment and grabbed hold of an uncommon opportunity to do good. Just like God will open doors for you through others, if you will allow Him He will use you to be an open door to bless someone else.
