I titled Monday’s devotion “A Day to Give Thanks.” Obviously, I was referring to Thanksgiving Day, which we celebrated yesterday. And I hope that you, along with family and friends, made time to give God thanks for all His goodness to you. But the truth is, every day gives us opportunities to be thankful. That’s because God has an awesome purpose and wonderful plans for each of us. Jeremiah 29:11, New International Version, He says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

From the foundation of the earth, God has always had a plan for your life that includes your provision, safety and protection—regardless of how bad things appear. His plans are designed to cause you to prosper and not be harmed. That means you can be peaceful and rest easy, knowing your future is bright and prosperous. So, how should you respond? With thanksgiving, that’s how! Accept God’s promises and goodness to you, and give Him thanks!
