How many times have you started something and never finished it? More specifically, have you ever set out to do something, and found yourself procrastinating to the point that what might have taken you days or weeks to accomplish ended up taking months, or even years? Or worse, you never reached your goal. Sadly, many of us have been in that situation. We set out to do something, but instead of moving forward, we sit around, waiting until we “feel like it.” The truth is, it’s time we get moving—now! We’ve been sitting around too long. Talking and planning, but never doing. Preparing, but never really moving forward. The only way to reach your goal is to start moving towards that goal—to get on the road that leads to your destiny, and then don’t stop until you get there. That requires doing at least three things. First, decide what it is you want to achieve. Determine your goal and set your focus on reaching it. Second, make preparation. Find out what it will take to reach your goal and then start planning to do whatever is necessary to get you there. Third, take action! Get moving. Stop talking about what you want to do and get busy doing it! Anyone can run a race, but the one who wins the race does so because he or she patiently and consistently persevered to the end. They determined what they wanted, they prepared for it, and then they set out to accomplish it. Ezra 10:4, English Standard Version, declares: “Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.” That’s the challenge for you today. Now that you know where you’re headed, get up, get on the road, and don’t stop until you reach your destination. God is with you, and you can trust Him to lead and keep you on the right path so that you arrive successfully and safely.
