Some people believe that being extravagant in our thinking—that “reaching for the stars” by believing for and asking God for big things, is a sign of arrogance or that we are being presumptuous. But the truth is, God wants us to think BIG—to believe Him for whatever it is we desire, according to His will, no matter how big it is, and trust that He will give it to us. Matthew 7:7, New International Versions, says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” And in John 16:23, Jesus said: “…my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” In addition, 1 John 5:14, New International Version, reminds us that, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” The key to our receiving what we desire from God is in the last part of that verse and the words “according to his will.” The only restriction or limitation God places on us when asking Him for anything is that we make sure what we desire lines up with His Word and His will for us, and our families too. God continues to give us uncommon opportunities to achieve big things, to do what some see as impossible or to attain what no one has ever done before. But in approaching those things, we should always consult with God. Pray and ask Him if this is something He desires for you. Search the scriptures for confirmation that it lines up with His Word. Then, by faith, trust Him to show you how to go about accomplishing your goal and achieving what is it you desire. Keep God big in your thinking. Keep God big in your asking. And trust God to help you achieve great things in life.
