When it comes to the Body of Christ, the devil has only one plan and that’s to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). He wants to take away everything we have, leaving us destitute, helpless and hopeless. His desire is to kill as many believers as he can to minimize or stop the power and authority we have to spread the gospel message. He wants to destroy God’s kingdom, and if we’re not diligent in fulfilling our responsibility to God and obeying His Word, that’s what Satan will do. The good news is, God also has a plan! In the story of the Israelites and the Red Sea, it is clear that, as long as the angel of the Lord was leading Moses and the Israelites, they knew they were safe. They didn’t become concerned until they faced an obstacle—the Red Sea. Even when the Lord’s presence moved from in front of the Israelites to their rear, to stand between them and their enemy, the Red Sea remained an obstacle. In reality, this was an opportunity for the Israelites to use their faith—to trust God to keep His promise to deliver them and bring them into “a land flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8). Just as Moses acted on his faith and trust in God, stretched out his staff, and saw the waters of the sea part, God expects you to stretch your faith by acting on His Word. He’s looking to you to trust Him with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5), so that He can faithfully direct your every step.
