Hosea 4:6, New Living Translation, says: “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me.” That’s a strong indictment against the Church, but nevertheless it’s God’s Word, and it’s true. The truth is, many Christians today don’t really know God. Why do I say that? Because when you really know God, when you are truly connected to Him and spending time in His Word, you will know and recognize His voice and you will follow Him (John 10:27). You won’t get tripped up because you wonder or question if you really heard from God. You won’t become worried and fearful—afraid to step out and do something you know He told you to do just because it seems strange, unusual or just plain foolish. You’ll be quick to move because you know God is on your side and that there is no chance that you might fail. God desires the best for you. He wants to see you walk in the fullness of His blessings. But the bottom line is that you have got to desire it just as much as He does.
