If you’re serious about your relationship with God, then I’m sure you can see the importance of the admonition in Luke 9:62, which says, “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” The Message says, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.” This verse boils down to one simple word: Faithfulness. That’s what God desires for us as His children. Sometimes, being faithful can be difficult, especially when we’re faced with certain obstacles or challenges and can’t see our way out. We may worry or become fretful. We may even find ourselves doubting God and His faithfulness to bring us through. But as His children, God has placed great trust in us to be His representatives here on the earth. He expects us to be strong, powerful witnesses for Him and His kingdom so that men, women and children will believe on His name and come to know Him as Lord and Savior. If we trust Him, God will lead us and direct our steps. But He expects us to do what Apostle Paul urged in Philippians 3:14 and be faithful to “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” He looks to us to “put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil” (Ephesians 6:13, New Living Translation). As a believer, you can accomplish everything God has called you to do, but only if you are faithful to obediently move forward.
