As a believer, no doubt you’ve experienced it: The moment you get a fresh Word from God the devil is right there to try and steal it away. That’s because he knows not only will you use that Word to help grow your faith, but you be quick to share it with others—especially those who are lost in sin and darkness. But Jesus has called you to be a light in darkness—to show others the way so they can come to know Him and be saved. David referred to God’s Word as a “lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). Why? Because it guided his every step—always leading him in the right direction and never allowing him to stumble and fall. Because you have the Word living inside you, the Light of the Word dwells in you too! Jesus calls you the “light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Don’t be afraid to let your light shine before men, “so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father” (Matthew 5:16).
