Sooner or later, most everyone faces hardship and trials. When we’re struggling to overcome the rising tides of life that come against us, it can be easy to slip over into hopelessness and despair—to begin to think things will never get better and that we’ll never reach our destiny and find true success in God. But adversity shouldn’t come as a surprise to any of us, especially if you’re born again. It’s part of life! The good news is, you don’t have to let adversity get the best of you. Psalm 34:19 says, “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time (New Living Translation).” That’s really comforting to know.

God is not surprised, neither is He concerned over any affliction or adversity you face. That’s because He loves you, and He’s already made a way for you to escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). For those who don’t know Jesus as Lord, it’s always going to be easy to lean more on their own human intellect to deal with adverse situations. But for believers it’s different. They know they can trust in and rely on God to help them through any challenging situation. When you’re in Christ, you can count on Him to give you the wisdom to navigate safely through life. You’ll see every adverse situation as another opportunity to experience the mighty, victorious power of God operating in your life.
