If you’re familiar with the story of how God delivered the Israelites out of bondage, then you will recall that He worked greatly in their favor by performing wonders and miracles to force Pharaoh to let them go. He promised His children a bountiful and prosperous life in the rich land He was leading them to. But soon after leaving Egypt, the Israelites forgot about what God had done for them and began complaining. They complained against Moses, their God-given leader, for taking them out of Egypt, and they complained against God! As a result, the Israelites suffered some terrible things during their 40-year journey—which, according to God’s plan, was only supposed to last a few days. First Corinthians 10:6, The Message, tells us, “The same thing could happen to us. We must be on guard so that we never get caught up in wanting our own way as they did.” Truthfully, as believers we have no reason to complain because God meets all our needs. He will take care of us, and handle our problems, if we just pray, believe, trust and obey Him. He promised to hear and answer our prayers—not our complaints!
