As we discovered on Monday, it’s important to recognize that your position, where you are, matters—especially if you’re a believer. The greatest position to be found in is having Jesus Christ as top priority in your life and acknowledging Him as the only source for everything you need and everything you do. Matthew 6:33 says to “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Jesus wasn’t just speaking idle words when He gave His disciples those powerful instructions. He was making a serious point about something He knew would be of great importance and value to them, and all who would follow them. Aiming at and striving after God and His way of being and doing right should be the No. 1 priority of every believer. When we put God first—in everything—He responds by answering us when we pray to Him. He not only gives us whatever it is we need, but He provides us with opportunities to bless others in ways we could never imagine.
