In Ephesians 6:14-18, New Living Translation, the Bible tells you how to dress for spiritual battle. It says to “Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle, you need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers.” Why is it important to face your challenges dressed for battle—equipped and shielded by God and His Word? Because when you put on God’s armor, using the Word to stand against the attack of the enemy, then you are exercising that spirit of power God has given you to ward off fear. Second Timothy 1:7 says God did not give us a spirit of fear, which is one of the major weapons Satan uses against God’s people. Matthew 16:19, says, “Whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” If fear is giving you a hard time, put on your faith clothes and bind it—forbid it from operating in your life and don’t receive it.
