There are forces of darkness all around us sending negative messages that suggest this coronavirus pandemic we’re facing is going to destroy us; that it is going to cripple our faith in God, paralyze and destroy our families, bankrupt our businesses, and leave us destitute and without hope. Sadly, many are believing the lie of the devil, including Christians! Some have even given up, folded their tents and are just waiting for the death bell to toll. If that’s you (and I hope not), or if you feel yourself headed in that direction, then let me give you some advice: Don’t give up! The truth is, yes, things do look bad for our nation, and the world, right now. And the naysayers, that faithless bunch that is deceived by the devil, are capitalizing on that negativity by telling us we won’t make it. But God’s Word says just the opposite. No matter how bad things seem or how threatening they may appear to be, God has promised that they will not come near you (Psalm 91). Romans 8:31 backs that up by saying, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” And Isaiah 54:17, New Living Translation, tells us: “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you.” As long as we have God on our side, we are destined to make it. Why? Because God NEVER fails, and neither does His Word. He said in Isaiah 55:11, NLT, “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” He also encourages us in Isaiah 41:13, New International Version, saying: “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” So, while others may be saying you can’t make it, or that you’ll never amount to anything, the truth is that by faith, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can and you will make it. That’s a promise from God, and it’s for everyone who will believe in Him and His Son. Stand firm in the Word of God, refuse to believe the doubters, and see your setback as a setup for a comeback. Boldly declare: “With God on my side, I will make it!”
