Many people have a difficult time when it comes to feeling good about themselves. Hopefully you’re not one of them. But just in case there are times when you experience low self-esteem, let me remind you of how God views you. In Psalm 139:14, David prayed to God, saying, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” In the New Living Translation, verse 14 says, “Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” David knew that, despite what others thought about him, he was special in God’s eyes. He saw himself as one of God’s “marvelous” works. Just as God made David, He made you and me. And the Bible tells us that God does not show favoritism in anything He does (Acts 10:34). He put the same love and care into creating you and me. When you begin to see yourself as God sees you, and you understand He has truly “fearfully and wonderfully” made you, then you will realize just how special you are.
