Having problems believing that everything’s going to be alright? Considering all we’ve been through the past year, that’s easy to understand. But what’s better to understand is that, despite all the chaos we’ve faced, we can still be hopeful. We can trust that, because our God is more powerful than anything the devil can throw at us, we will survive and be victorious. Romans 12:12, English Standard Version, tells us to “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Those things are keys to our walking out life’s difficulties and into the blessings of the Lord. You see, the Bible tells us to rejoice in the Lord always, no matter how bad things seem. The Lord is our strength, and when we rejoice in His goodness—all the things He’s already done for us—then we don’t have time to worry or fret over what’s happening around us. We know He will bring us through in victory. The Bible also tells us to let patience have her perfect work in us. That means we give our problems to God; then we patiently wait for Him to solve them. Finally, we stay consistent in prayer. We pray without ceasing, meaning we’re always directing our thoughts toward God, believing He is with us and will keep us. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by God’s Word (Romans 10:17). Reading, studying, and trusting in God’s Word will always give us the hope and faith we need to withstand the evils of the day—knowing that because God said so, everything is going to be alright.
