It’s sad to say, but there is always going to be someone in your life whose assignment it is to distract you and try to block your success—to throw obstacles in your way and try to cause you to go backward instead of moving forward. But the Bible tells us in Philippians 3:13-14, that to receive what God has planned and purposed for us, to receive His prize, we must always be pressing forward and advancing. James 4:7, The Message, says for us to “let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time.” God has a prize for each of us. It’s what He has planned and purposed for our lives. But the prize is always in front of us. It’s never behind us. No matter what difficulty you’re facing, don’t allow the enemy to tempt or force you to turn back—to begin to doubt God’s love, power or His Word. The Bible never promised that, as a believer, you won’t face trials. But it does promise that you’ll never have to face them alone. Jesus has overcome the world, and all its problems, and He did it all for you!
