You may be wondering, How is it even possible to get strength through weakness? After all, they are two extreme opposites. Well, when you look at it in the natural then you’re absolutely correct. But taken from a spiritual perspective, weakness is the very thing that produces great strength. You see, in the context of our spiritual lives, strength that is generated by our faith in God and His Word, is what carries us through the difficulties of life. Sometimes, we may be going through something and we don’t feel we are strong enough to endure it. But in 2 Corinthians 12:9, The Passion Translation, God reassures us that we can make it because His love for us is strong enough to overpower our weakness. He says, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” The King James Version says, “for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” The literal translation of that verse implies God will take your weakness and make you strong. What an awesome revelation to know that when you feel your weakest, through God you are actually your strongest! When you know God has graced you to overcome weakness, you will never waver in faith. Instead, you’ll stand strong and victorious, giving glory to your heavenly Father, and thanking Him for producing strength out of your weakness. You’ll use those tests and trials to strengthen you, so your faith becomes stronger in the midst of your feelings of weakness.
