Jesus is the reason for the season! Every year, as Christmas approaches, we’re reminded of that truth. And, as believers, it’s important that we remember that’s what Christmas means to us—that the birth of Jesus Christ represents how, because of His great love for us, God poured out His grace, mercy and favor on all mankind. John 3:16, New Living Translation, says, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” Eternal life! That’s God’s gift to you and me, and it came through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Aside from all the joy that Christmas brings, including the giving and receiving of gifts among loved ones, we must always remember that Jesus is the greatest gift of all. Think on that as you celebrate Christmas on Wednesday, and give thanks to God for His very special gift, for truly Jesus is the ONLY reason for the season!
