There is a popular saying you may be familiar with that goes: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. The literal meaning is that when the situation becomes difficult, the strong will work harder to meet the challenge. The problem is, that’s not always the case—especially when the tough thing you’re confronted with is something that seemingly is impossible to overcome. Rather than stand and face the challenge, many become worried or feel threatened and back away in fear. Where do you fit in this picture? Are you one of those who lets the appearance of defeat cause you to tuck tail and run? Or are you willing to face the challenge? Do what the Bible says in Ephesians 6:13, Living Bible: “Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up.” Not everything is always as bad as it seems. And for sure, nothing is too hard for God to handle on your behalf if you trust Him to do so. What do you do when things start to get tough? You call on the One who is tough enough!
