Did you have an opportunity to do good this week? If you’re a believer, then your answer should be yes because, as we learned on Monday, God always gives us opportunity to do good (Galatians 6:10). Perhaps, God put something in your heart to do that you totally overlooked. If that’s the case, don’t worry. There will be plenty of opportunities for you throughout the year to do good things and bless others. Just make sure you’re not like the five women that Jesus talked about in the Parable of the 10 Virgins, who missed an opportunity to see the bridegroom at a wedding because they didn’t properly prepare their lanterns with enough oil. When the bridegroom arrived at night, they missed seeing him because they had run out of oil (Read Matthew 25:1-13). Don’t be like those women and fail to prepare. Do what 1 Peter 5:8, New Living Translation, says and “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil.” Be alert and prepared, stay focused on God and His Word. Listen for His voice and immediately obey. You can be assured God is going to send uncommon opportunities your way. You need to be prepared so you can recognize them when they come, and then do exactly whatever it is God assigns you to do.
