It can be easy to become so distracted and discouraged by what is wrong in our lives, and how bad things seem to be, that we fail to look at how good God is and the good things He is doing for us. That’s why it’s important for us to remember that, despite whatever bad that’s taking place in our lives, He has promised us a bright future. We can still have hope because God loves us and He always keeps His Word to us. That’s the promise He made in Jeremiah 29:11, New Living Translation, when He said, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” When Jesus died for us, He overpowered helplessness and hopelessness. Never forget that. Especially this month, as we celebrate His death, burial and Resurrection.
